We arrived at Logan airport around 9:20 in the morning. Unfortunately, a few of us were over the 50lb weight limit for our checked bags. We all worked together to rearrange our suitcases so every person was able to check their bags with no issue. Lauren Medeiros, a student who’s suitcase was 3 pounds over the limit said, “I am really happy it all worked out and I am thankful one of the professors had room in their suitcase to put my stuff in!” Immediately after weighing our suitcases, we all successfully checked our bags and headed towards our gate, B8. We had about two hours to relax and find something to eat before we needed to board the plane to Miami. After a semester of learning about Argentina and Uruguay, we were excited to finally start our travels.
Luckily, the plane was on time and there weren’t any delays. After the roughly three hour flight, we landed in Miami where there was a 4 hour layover. During this layover we were able to get food in addition to walking around the airport to get moving before sitting on another plane all night. We used this time to bond immensely before spending the next 2 weeks together.
We boarded the plane to Buenos Aires at 8:05 pm. With only 9 hours left standing between our class and the best experience of our lives, excitement filled the plane; not to mention the games included on the tv seats. Having games and movies built into the tvs made the experience exponentially better because it allowed for us to play against each other no matter where on the plane we were located! Although the seating was random, majority of us were lucky and got placed next to one another to keep the conversations going! Brooke Williams said, “I’m so happy I got to sit next three of my friends because the time passed so much faster!”
Adios Chicos! This is just the beginning of an amazing experience we can not wait to share!
